Ali Ingersoll’s life transformed at 27 when a tragic diving accident
left her a C6 quadriplegic. Paralyzed from the chest down, she
spent 7 years in hospitals enduring multiple life-altering diagnoses
and grappling with hopelessness. Despite being convinced
her life had reached its untimely end, Ali opened her mind to
transformation and discovered how to alter her thinking and focus
on keep moving forward despite her physical limitations.
Now awakened from despair, Ali bravely embraced her paralysis as
a catalyst for transformation. In doing so, she tapped into unforeseen
opportunities as a professional speaker, corporate disability consultant,
and fierce disability advocate in her community. Soon her newfound
dual purposes of empowering others to adapt to the unknown and
advocating for inclusivity personally and professionally.
In 2023, she was crowned Ms. Wheelchair America for efforts in changing
landmark Medicare legislation, and in April 2024 she delivered a
TEDx Talk – “Turning Paralysis into Purpose: Embracing Adversity to
Achieve Success.” These two achievements have broadened Ali’s visibility
while prompting her to reflect on her fortunate position to assist others.
Despite quadriplegia, Ali has vowed to Keep Moving Forward and now
works with thousands to help them break free from psychological paralysis.
